Meghan Prendergast

August 10, 2018

Meghan has been a successful massage therapist since 2007 starting in Florida at a health clinic and eventually moving to Virginia to help in several fitness & wellness centers. Working with chronic issues such as sports injuries and soft tissue strains, she has learned a diverse array of treatment modalities proven effective in helping clients regain increased mobility, reduce pain and achieve balance in their body structures.

In addition to therapeutic massage, she offers deep tissue, pre-natal, and sports massage. Meghan is especially fond of including an active – passive stretching technique (PNF) into her routines when it’s appropriate. Another not-so-common modality, Lymphatic Drainage (MLD), can be amazingly helpful when inflammation is an issue or joint pain is present. Currently, Meghan is one of the few therapists in the area to have been also trained in Thai Yoga Massage – an incredible experience when you need someone to help stretch your muscles and regain your range of motion. Massage and Bodywork has been very rewarding for her as she is able to aid in her clients’ fitness and health goals, while making personal connections with those passionate about the healing arts.

Meghan is currently offering Thai Yoga and will be offering more services shortly.

Thai Yoga Massage (Traditional Thai)

Thai Yoga, also known as Traditional Thai, is done on a mat on the floor with the client wearing loose, comfortable clothing. This method uses the whole body to treat the client, blending gentle rocking, acupressure, rhythmic compression, and assisted stretches to relax and revitalized body and mind. The therapist will use their hands, knees, legs and feet to move the client into a series of yoga-like stretches.

PLEASE NOTE: Please wear loose, comfortable clothing to these sessions.
