Biography

David was first exposed to Chinese medicine in 1999, and soon thereafter, began to study Qigong, a Chinese form of movement and meditation classically practiced to cultivate healing energy.

David is a licensed acupuncturist and herbalist with a Masters degree from the New England School of Acupuncture, and he has a BA in East Asian Studies from Brown University and an MBA from Babson College. Also, an avid martial artist, he is a Professor of Capoeira Angola with over 15 years of experience, and he has studied traditional medicine in West Africa and meditative traditions from around the world.

David’s acupuncture practice is built on the insight developed over years of physical and mental training, first-hand experience with healing, an affinity for ancient texts, and the practicality that comes from his business education.

Acupuncture

Combines the traditions of its 5000 year-old history with more modern understanding of health and disease to provide safe, effective treatment for many health-related problems including: pain relief, chronic and acute conditions, immune system boosting & illness prevention, blood pressure regulation, fertility problems, menopausal symptom relief, digestive distress, weight control, addiction control and many other systemic issues.

CranioSacral Re-balancing

CranioSacral Therapy works with the subtle bones of the skull and sacrum to balance the cerebrospinal fluid which influences many bodily functions. A very gentle approach to re-balancing soft tissue structures often compromised by injury or trauma, it has proven to be very effective in the treatment of chronic pain, migraine headaches, low-back pain, TMJD, and other stress-related symptoms.

Usually only one or two sessions are needed to help make a significant change.

Integrative Acupuncture

While Acupuncture and Tui Na are usually done separately, the two can be combined for maximum efficacy. Needles at the ends of the channels help them open while the massage loosens and soothes the muscles. Truly a transformative experience.

Tui Na

Tui Na literally means “Push Pull” in Chinese. Tui Na is a form of bodywork rooted in the Chinese medical tradition. It uses the same diagnostic skills and energetic pathways to heal the body, relieve tension, and restore balance. It is also very effective for muscle fatigue and strain. Client remains fully dressed.
